Job Overview:
We are in search of an experienced Project Coordinator to support the project management team while building a strong foundation for individual career growth. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of construction principles, excellent communication abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. A typical work week is divided between office and field responsibilities, which offers a unique opportunity to learn many aspects of the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee project document control for both office and job site locations, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Regularly communicate project progress and updates to project leadership and stakeholders, maintaining transparency.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to meet project needs, managing all associated documentation.
- Develop and maintain material delivery schedules, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
- Review, manage, and distribute project drawings and documentation, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Interpret contract drawings and specifications to guide project execution.
- Track materials, monitor production rates, and conduct cost projections to ensure budget adherence.
- Manage change orders, including generating and maintaining a detailed change order log.
- Compile and organize all project documents and resources for easy access and reference.
- Proactively identify and address changes in project scope or schedule to minimize disruptions.
- Perform material takeoffs, including pricing research, and coordinate vendor and subcontractor selection.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to assist in creating accurate change order estimates.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
- Present and discuss project estimates with company leadership.
- Examine blueprints, specifications, and other documents to define project scope and requirements.
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and competitiveness prior to award.
- Collaborate on generating RFIs with the team, customer, or end user.
- Develop work schedules with input from the team, customer, or end user.
- Perform other duties as assigned by project leadership.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in dry utility construction or a related field.
- Understanding of construction processes and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Bid2Win software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a federal background check.
- Strong alignment with company values, emphasizing safety and quality.
- High attention to detail.
- Familiarity with construction industry practices, materials, and methods.
- Experience with BlueBeam Revu software is beneficial.
