Job Overview:
Digital Installation Group (DIG) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our People function and support the company’s continued growth. This role is equal parts strategist and doer—responsible for shaping the company’s HR vision while also rolling up their sleeves to execute day-to-day initiatives.
The Director of HR will oversee all aspects of HR operations including employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, performance management, compensation and benefits, and workforce planning. This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring regular onsite presence in our Manassas headquarters.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the VP of Operations and other leaders to design and implement HR strategies aligned with DIG’s growth goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, and workforce development.
- Balance long-term planning with immediate execution needs.
Talent Management & Acquisition
- Drive recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent across skilled trades, project management, and corporate functions.
- Build and oversee onboarding, training, and retention initiatives to reduce turnover and strengthen employee engagement.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that aligns with DIG’s values and mission.
- Lead employee relations processes with fairness, consistency, and compliance.
- Act as a coach and advisor to managers on performance, engagement, and conflict resolution.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including OSHA, FMLA, EEO, and wage & hour regulations.
- Establish and maintain HR policies, procedures, and handbooks.
Performance & Development
- Implement performance management processes that drive accountability and development.
- Support leadership in building career paths, succession planning, and professional development opportunities.
Organizational Growth
- Partner with leadership to plan workforce needs, especially as DIG expands into new markets.
- Recommend organizational design, staffing models, and people programs to support scale.
- Anticipate future needs while directly executing present-day HR activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required;
- Master’s or HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated success in both strategic HR leadership and hands-on execution.
- Proven ability to build trust with leadership and employees at all levels.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
- Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach; comfortable being highly visible and engaged onsite.
